Product: incDirectory
Version: 0.5a
Released: 5th May 2003
Release by: Andrew Piggott : andy@incutio.com

Notes:
We've dumped the category compression technique for now pending a rewrite, this may happen at a templating level rather than
within the code as all the data structures already exist to do this. Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Changes:
Created an update script to move old versions to the latest DB structure [andy]
Changed database structure to improve reporting features particularly on number of links and most popular [andy]
Made significant changes to the caching of breadcrumbs to improve performance and operation [andy]
Improved methods for managing caches when categories/links are moved [andy]
Added full-text fields to the DB and created search functions for these [andy]
Creating methods of recording on searching [andy]
Created a basic template system to support provide basic language support and improve modification of the look and feel [andy]

Fixes:
Accepts all URLs now, there was a problem with some TLD's beforehand [andy]
Editing and Deletion of categories now works [andy]
Editing and Deletion of links now works [andy]
Breadcumbs now rebuild when categories or links are moved or deleted [andy]

Still to fix:
re-create the extra-links for within the page title (providing extra navigation function) [andy]

To-Do:
Search reporting, particularly on empty result sets (demonstrates wanted items)
Add multiple user support
Add email notification of links being added or rejected (for users submitting links)
Add category moderators - some discussion about how this should work still needs to be undertaken, DMOZ style?
Optimise object passing, there is too much duplication within the objects at the moment!
Add the toys back in, we can create a lot of toys around the sort of use the directory gets, number of hits, ratings, etc

Timeline:
0.5b will mainly be fixes and include some of the 'to-do' items
0.5c will be a final release of 0.5, we'll then move onto the alpha of 0.6
